Join us for our last Monday Collaborative Call of the 2023-2024 school year on May 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. Missouri Parents as Teachers Association will continue to work together with DESE, PATNC, and other key partners so we can all work together to share how we plan to build and strengthen the parent educators and programs across Missouri.

Missouri Parents As Teachers Association’s 2024 June Retreat

Missouri Parents As Teachers Association (MOPATA) is excited to announce our Annual June Retreat (virtually).  MOPATA will bring you fantastic learning opportunities to support growth as a parent educator and build vital Missouri PAT programs.   These 9 hours can be counted toward your 20 hours of required professional development for the year.  

The June Retreat will be from June 3 - June 5, from Noon to 3:00 p.m. each day. 

Registration: https://www.mopata.org/grow-advocate You will register one time for all three days.  A link will be emailed to each registrant the day before the retreat starts. 

Everyone is welcome to attend the retreat. Missouri Parents as Teachers Association (MOPATA) members can attend for free, and guests can attend for $40.

Day 2:  June 4, 2024,  Noon to 3:00 p.m. 

  • Noon - 1:30 Nurture Neuroscience, Greer Kirshenbaum, PhD. - Sleep

  • 1:30 - 3:00 Jane Herder, MA, MEd Director Outreach/Deaf Blind Technical Assistance Project  - Vision Observation Guide When You Suspect a Vision Impairment, Outreach at Missouri School for the Blind developed this observation tool to help caregivers, parents, and providers identify vision concerns in children younger than four years old.  We will briefly discuss typical red flags for when you suspect vision is affecting the child’s development and what to do next!


Day 3:  June 5, 2024, Noon to 3:00 p.m.
